I
Who is Fae Fox?
Hello, my name is Chy, and my entire life has evolved around one simple desire: to care for those around me. I became a massage therapist because I know that everyone has experienced their own personal traumas - whether they be injuries, heartbreaks, addictions, mental illnesses, or the exhausting daily grind of existing in a world that is often unkind to us. Touch is a powerful way to facilitate healing in our physical and emotional bodies, and few of us receive the amount of compassionate and attentive touch we deserve in order to feel connected to ourselves and our world.

When you book a session with me, we address not only the physical pain and tension you're experiencing, but discuss how to ease those burdens from your body and work together to help you let them go. Every massage I give is unique to your body's needs, drawing from a variety of techniques across over a dozen modalities of bodywork that I've studied since beginning my education in 2017.

My Education
I started college as a medical student in 2013, hoping to earn a licensure to assist people with eating disorders find the nutritional care and mental health support they needed. After several years of school, I became frustrated with the health systems I saw in place that treated symptoms without addressing their underlying causes. As I approached graduation, I realized that this western healthcare system was too broken for me to want to be a part of in any traditional way.

After 3 years of medical school, I paused to think about where my role in this world truly was. In college, I took every available course on Complementary and Alternative Medicinal (CAM) theories, fascinated by the eastern philosophies surrounding healthcare. Exhausted from the grind of working minimum wage jobs while being a student, I decided to attend massage school, at first thinking it would be a useful compliment to my eventual western medical practice and believing it would be an enjoyable profession to hold while I finished medical school.

By the end of my first day of massage school, I knew I had found my calling. Massage allowed me to combine science and intuition to heal bodies in holistic and effective ways. When I completed my program at Asheville, North Carolina's Center For Massage & Natural Health school in 2017, I couldn't even wait until my paperwork went through before I signed up for continuing education in Thai massage.

After completing a series of courses in the US, I traveled to Chiang Mai, Thailand, to study with world-renowned Thai practitioners Pichest Boonthume and Kam Thye Chow under the guidance of my amazing Thai massage teacher in America, Michael Sitzer. I was drawn to Thai massage because of the way it uniquely incorporates movement into massage sessions, and focuses on balancing the energetic body as well as the physical body.

Since graduating from massage school, I have also taken continuing education to dive more deeply into energetic healing with Craniosacral Therapy, a modality I draw from often during my integrative table massage sessions. Additionally, I have expanded my knowledge of massage by studying Neuromuscular (Trigger Point) Therapy and kinesiology in further depth. I know there is always more to learn, and my enthusiasm for expanding my library of skills will never fade as the years go on and I continue to serve my clients with empathy, patience, kindness, and compassion.

My Credentials
I received my 600 hour certification to practice massage and bodywork therapy from the Center For Massage & Natural Health school in Asheville, North Carolina in 2017. I was then licensed as an LMBT by the state (NC #16402), and continue to hold that licensure. After graduating school, passing the MBLEX, and getting my license, I remain dedicated to learning how best to help my clients by taking numerous courses to further my education. In the year 2022, I was also licensed in the state of Massachusetts as an LMT (MA #17221).
